L' Alliance française

Le mardi 17 mai, nous sommes allés au pittoresque et ancien bâtiment de L´Alliance française. Nous sommes arrivés à 10h30 pour une journée très magnifique. Mais, malheureusement, nous sommes arrivés en retard !

L’alliance était une construction fantastique, ancienne à l’extérieur mais moderne à l’intérieur. La médiathèque était un endroit contemporain et très technologique. Puis la bibliothécaire elle était agréable et drôle. Les étudiants nous avons eu une expérience excellente avec elle.

Nous nous sommes divisés en groupes en fonction de notre utilisation de la langue pour des activités intéressants. Certains de nous nous avons fait des activités de niveau A1, et le reste des étudiants nous avons fait des activités de niveau A2. Nous avons fait quelques exercices pour la recherche dans les livres. Par exemple, nous avons cherché des informations sur SCI-fi pour remplir certaines données. De cette façon, nous évaluions notre compréhension.

Après nous avons fait des activités orales qui ont enrichi notre prononciation. La coordinatrice elle était sympathique, très agréable. Non seulement le personnel dans l’alliance nous a parlé en français, mais aussi nous a aidé à mieux comprendre et plus de vocabulaire.

Cette expérience nous a servi pour améliorer nos compétences avec la langue française et aussi élargir nos connaissances.

Michael kenneth McAlister

Michael Kenneth McAlister is well known due to the fact that he was sent to prison for 30 years when, actually the real criminal was still out there, free.


A young South Richmond woman was sexually abused and at the moment of the crime, she was able to pull up the plaid-shirted attacker’s stocking mask and get a look at his lower face and she was able to detect some facial characteristics of her rapist. She went to the police station and made complaint about it. The police officers made her identify the aggressor by the eyewitness method. She was not at all sure of which one was his aggressor, and she stayed 45 minutes in order to barely "recognize" him. After this period of time, she decided that McAlister´s face was the one which she saw. It must be clarified that McAlister was dressed in the picture as the way she described the aggressor, the same type of t-shirt. It could be inferred that this was one of the reasons of the wrongful eyewitness. And furthermore, the police officers told the abused girl that it was their main suspect, and this made her even more confident about her decision.




The McAlister family tried it's best to actually show that Michael was innocent, until 29 years
later, when his one-time lookalike, serial rapist Norman Bruce Derr confessed.

In granting the pardon, McAuliffe, the governor, said, “My staff and I have carefully and thoroughly reviewed the documentation in this case and concluded that a pardon is appropriate in light of the overwhelming evidence, including a recent confession by another individual, pointing to Mr. McAlister’s actual innocence of the crime for which he was convicted."

Mitigación

Mitigación es el esfuerzo por reducir la pérdida de vida y propiedad reduciendo el impacto de los desastres. La mitigación se logra tomando acción  ahora – antes de que azote el próximo desastre – para así disminuir los daños por desastre, reconstrucción y daños repetidos. Para que los esfuerzos de mitigación sean exitosos, es importante que todos estemos informados sobre los riesgos que podrían afectar nuestra área y tomemos las medidas necesarias para protegernos.  

Algunas medidas podrían ser :

1 )Eliminación de una fuente contaminante :si se trata de residuos tóxicos se retirarán los mismos y si es un relleno contaminante se procederá a aislarlo.

2 )Limpieza del terreno contaminado para llevarlo a niveles no tóxicos

3)Tratamiento de aguas contaminadas : extrayendo contaminantes bacteriológicos , inorgánicos o de tipo hidrocarburíferos.

Todos podemos desde nuestro lugar fomentar hechos que promuevan la mitigación del daño ambiental en distintos aspectos ya sean hidrológicos(inundaciones ) , geológicos (sismos) o fortuitos como es el caso de los incendios. 

Las huellas del hombre en la sociedad de consumo

El video nos presenta a Juanito Laguna, un chico igual a tantos de los que vemos vagando en villas de capital o del conurbano. Juanito, obra del pintor y muralista Antonio Berni fue realizado en forma de "collage" con deshechos recolectados por el artista en barrios miserables. Alli, no hay acceso al bienestar: agua corriente, gas, cloacas, asfalto. Se van construyendo de a poco con los restos de lo que arroja la sociedad de consumo: latas, cartones, chapas oxidadas. Esos elementos son la huella de una sociedad que no toma conciencia de lo perdurable y elige la obsolesciencia. En estas barriadas, sobre todo en las mas pobres, es comun ver pilas de desperdicios desde una lata a un teclado de computadora,una rueda destartalada o un lavaropas desarmado. Esos son los rastos que va dejando el ser humano a su paso.

Tabacco Adverisment

A propaganda is a message designed to persuade its intended audience. As we can appreciate from this advertisments, they try to show the things you gain when you smoke and how enjoyable is do it.  Furthermore, this type of advertisment don´t show the negative impacts form smoking, and this show the vested interest from the company.

mad men

We watched a short fragment from Mad Men and we took it as an example of vested interest in companies, in daily life.
 To begin with, what is vested interest? Is the interest of someone in influencing something so that you can continue to benefit from it, it can include the distortion or hiding of information.
Where can we find vested interest in this scene? In Don's idea, when he proposes to sell to the public something that is harmful, but not to inform the audience. He is hiding some of the information, wich if people get to know will affect the selling, so Don avoids the truth and tries to get profit from this. But before, we can see a previous proposal, Peter's. And why is it rejected? Simple, Peter in his idea accepts that the cigarrettes are harmful, and that soon or late people will die. He says everything is dangerous in this world, including cigarrettes, but for Peter, people doesn't have to worry and enjoy life.
